This unusual antique Victorian beetle brooch is, Circa 1880.

The wonderful brooch is adorned in Paste Stones and 2 Garnets as the beetles eyes.

Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones, the Romans in particular were very skilful in the production of coloured glass Pastes.
