This beautiful pair of earrings recalls an ancient design from Byzantium or Greece. The top part is semicircular with a sunburst motif.  The bottom part is five dangles with two disc turquoise beads. The earrings are decorated using a variety of techniques such as applique, granulation, and roping. The result is a spectacular pair of earrings. The earrings were made in the later part of the twentieth century from sterling silver covered with gold gilt. 

The earrings' posts are glued rather than soldered to the earrings with strong resin that's quite hardy.  The earrings are marked 925 on the back and are in good vintage condition.
